Imagine writing the first chapter of your novel, digging up dirt in a new garden, or learning to play the accordion - starting whatever passion project you’re too tired to even think about

Imagine a long covid flare-up where you feel confident that you have the tools to manage it, rather than feeling like nothing will help and wondering if there’s anything you can do.

More about me

I am an herbalist, massage therapist, and midwife. But more importantly, I live with long covid. I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a cycle of flare-ups and low energy. I know what it feels like to put dreams and passions aside because I can barely get out of bed. But I also know what it feels like to get better, and feel the return of my vitality. I am grateful for the knowledge of holistic healing

In 2006 I attended my first herbal medicine training with the late Michael Moore. I began my journey into holistic healing because I saw how the medical system wasn’t helping people, and I wanted to be able to offer something better.

Over the next several years I continued my herbal training, including completing community herbalist programs at the Maryland University of Integrative Medicine and the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. I also studied with the late Frank Cook and assisted at the Green Farmacy garden of the late Jim Duke. More recently I studied online at the People’s Medicine School and in a 1:1 mentorship with herbalist Janice Marsh-Prelesnik.

After several years of working with herbs I expanded my training to include massage therapy. I am trained in multiple modalities specifiaclly for long covid and chronic illness, including lymphatic massage, neurolymphatic massage, the Perrin technique, and Carey Benenson Taussig’s Massage for Chronic Illness. Within my massage practice I specialize in clients with long covid and other chronic illnesses.

I have taught many classes on herbalism, massage, and community-based healing, at venues including the Glastonbury Institute for Sustainable Living, Chicago Center for Psychophysical Healing, Great Lakes Herb Faire, Garret Wellness Center, Azadi Folk School, Wild Ginger Herbal Center, and Baltimore Free School.

I am also a Certified Professional Midwife. I have supported hundreds of families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as a midwife, labor support and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator. In my holistic healing practice I incorporate herbs and massage as integrated wellness support.

I am passionate about equity and justice in holistic healthcare and strive to be accountable for my own actions and support others in accountability. I am also a street medic and support movements by offering first aid at actions and demonstrations.
