More about me
In 2006, I began my journey into birth work because I wanted to help birthing families honor the sacred ceremony of birth.
I began my birth work as a doula at the DC Family Health and Birth Center and soon began offering postpartum doula services and childbirth education in addition to labor support.
In 2014 I began my studies to become a Certified Professional Midwife, after many years of offering doula services . I am a graduate of the National College of Midwifery and Midwest Maternal Child Institute, and completed a multi-year apprenticeship attending homebirths and birth center births. I have supported hundreds of families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum as a midwife, labor support and postpartum doula, and childbirth educator. I value holistic, family-centered healthcare.
I specialize in working with families prenatally to help them understand their birth options. I have attended hundreds of births that have been a mix of hospital birth, home birth and birth center birth. I have real life experience in many different settings.
